This is Coach Jira’s first season working with Titans FC. Coach Jira will be taking on the role of the B08 Navy Team Head Coach. Jira’s coaching philosophy revolves around well-structured team shape on defense and a fluid, creative, team movement going forward.
“My goal is to provide a learning atmosphere where players are allowed to try new things and let their creativity run wild. From there, the objective is to show players what, how, and when they can make better decisions in different scenarios so that the player themselves can learn how to solve problems on their own when it comes to games. My role is to facilitate a positive attitude on the field, with players and families during games, practices, and off the field, in order for the player to develop in a fun atmosphere.”
Jira played his high school soccer at Redmond High School. After his high school career, Jira moved on to compete at Marshall University where he became the team captain and was an All-Conference selection as well. Some of his favorite soccer playing memories came in College when his team upset No.3 SMU and No.12 South Carolina, as well as flying back home to compete against University of Washington in front of friends and family.
As a coach, Jira has worked with West Virginia SC, NKFC, Seattle Cecltic, and Bainbridge Island FC. He has also worked with Marshall University and Oregon State Unversity’s soccer clinics. Jira currently has his NSCAA National Diploma and is continuing his coaching education alongside the rest of our staff. Outside of coaching, Jira works as a Marketing Program Manager helping cloud tech companies in their pursuit to tell the world their story.
