The recent success of the G01 Navy Titans has been quite remarkable to follow. According to Gotsoccer, the G01 Navy Titans have climbed their way up to the 12th ranked team in the state of Washington and for good reason. Currently, the girls sit in second place in the WNPL with a 2-1-1 record. One of those wins came in November when they defeated ASE G01 Emerald 3-2, a team who are the sitting national champions and at the time of the win, were ranked number 1 in the region. The G01 Titans also have 6 players who represent the PSPL Surf Academy and have showcased their talents well at the Academy level.
One of the team’s biggest and most recent accomplishments came in early January when the team traveled down to Las Vegas to compete in the Vegas Cup. This was a big opportunity for our G01 Titans and for our club to showcase the talent of the Pacific Northwest on such a big stage. The Titans rose to the occasion and came up big in crucial moments to work their way through the competition and advance to the finals. The Titans faced off against a great Utah Celtic FC team in the finale, a team that is currently ranked 3rd in the state of Utah. After a great back and forth match, Makena Guenther broke through and put away the one and only goal of the match to bring the Vegas Cup home. This was a monumental moment for the team as all the hard work that they have put into trainings had finally come to fruition.
Head Coach Adam Nowland and Titans XX Director Erik Oman have been ecstatic over the success and development of this team over the last couple months. Their heart, determination, and passion for the game are second to none. The girls are always playing with a high intensity at training and the level continues to rise. These girls don’t have any intention of slowing down anytime soon and will look to carry their success onward into the Spring season. Well done ladies!!!
