November 4th and 5th Weekend Review

By Keegan Rogers, 11/07/17, 5:30PM PST

We start off our Weekend Review with the newly crowned League Champions G07 Navy Bellevue team who secured the top spot with a 6-0 win over a solid Seattle Celtics squad.  Coach Jack and Jaynie have been working hard with this squad and their development clearly shows.  The girls are stacked on both sides of the ball.  Offensively, the girls have tucked away 55 goals in 10 games and defensively, the girls have only conceded 3 all season. We are very proud of these young ladies and the work they have put in all season.  We are so grateful to have these young lady Titans wear our NPSA crest! Well done ladies!

Moving on to State Cup, our B01 Navy Bellevue had an exciting start to their State Cup journey as they took on the Gunners and beat them 4-1.  Coach Adam and the boys dominated the game and the score probably should have been more in the Titans’ favor.  Great goals from Slone, Takoda, and Angel and the boys will look to continue their hot start to State cup next weekend!

Our B02 Navy Team also had a positive result in their first State Cup game as they tied a good Pacific team 1-1 in Redmond.  Despite several injuries and illnesses, the boys came ready to play and put on a show.  The boys rattled the bar several times and put opponents under a ton of duress for the entire match.  The boys will look to get two more positive results next weekend as they finish out the group stage games.

B03 White Bellevue had a tough start to their State Cup, but their spirits never dropped.  The boys battled to the end and coach Keegan couldn’t be prouder of their efforts. The boys competed in tough playing conditions and never let their foot off the gas pedal.  Great stuff from our boys and they will look to get a positive result against a good Seattle Celtic team.

B08 Navy Mercer Island played a fun and exciting game against a solid Emerald City team.  Standout performances came from Justin and Preston who had a brilliant combination play to grab a goal in the game.  This team continues to improve each and every week.  Great stuff from the boys and they will look to complete their successful season next weekend in their last game.

Our B04 Navy team traveled to Spokane and competed against second place Spokane Foxes. The boys fought very hard in the snowy conditions, but couldn’t quite get the result.  The B04s have a tremendous amount of quality on the squad and have played well this season.  Coach Keenan was proud of their efforts and is looking to continue improving the squad for the next opponents.

B07 Navy Mercer Island fell short in their matchup against the Dragons, but they competed hard the entire match.  Coach Keegan was very proud of their efforts against the first place team.  The boys never gave up and they fought hard.  The boys will look to end their season on a strong note next weekend with their last home game.

B06 White Bellevue lost a very tight game to a tough Cetlic team.  The boys played great and got plenty of chances, but couldn’t quite put away their opportunities.  Coach Nelson was proud of their efforts and their continued development. Goalkeeper Andrei H. played lights out and was named man of the match from the squad.  Well done boys!

To round off our Weekend Review, our B06 Navy Mercer Island team won 2 big games against Dragon’s FC.  These two results are big for the B06s as they control their own destiny.  Next weekend, the boys will compete against a good Eclipse team and if the boys win, they will take home the Superleague 1 title.  The big stage is set for Coach Jack and the boys.  We wish them well on their final game of the season and hopefully they can take care of business!
