NPSA October 21st & 22nd Weekend Review

By Keegan Rogers, 10/24/17, 10:30AM PDT

We begin our weekend review with our G07 Navy Bellevue team as they continue to roll through their amazing season.  The girls secured a 3-0 win over a good Gunners team to maintain their spot at the top of the table.  The girls have only allowed 2 goals all season and they seem to score at will going forward! Coach Jack and Coach Jaynie are thrilled with the girls and their performances so far this season.  The girls have a few games left in the season and are looking to finish strong!

Moving to the B06 Navy Mercer Island team, the boys took down Maple Valley with a great 2-0 victory.  The boys have competed against Maple Valley several times and the games are always very competitive.  Standout player Woody scored 2 world class goals in the first half to lead the team on the score sheet.  Defensively, the boys were tough to beat and they played well as a unit.  After a tough trip to Eastern Washington, the boy have bounced back and are looking to get back to the top of the table.

The B05 Navy Bellevue team can’t be stopped as they ran away with a big 9-1 victory over Fury.  The goals just keep coming and the backline continues to be dominant.  The boys are sitting on top of the table and if they take care of business this weekend, they will take home the league title! Good luck to Coach Jack and the boys!

The B03 White Bellevue team is in great form as they tied first place team Aguilas 2-2.  This was a very entertaining game as there was action on both sides of the field.  Defensively, goalkeeper Luke came up huge with several point blank saves to keep the team in the game.  Going forward, the boys were relentless and created several opportunities.  The boys had zero subs, but refused to let their work ethic drop.  The boys are in great form and are looking to continue to climb up a very competitive table with their remaining games. Well done boys!

The B07 Mercer Island boys traveled to Enumclaw over the weekend to compete against a good Mt Rainier team.  The boys battled hard in the rain and played some quality soccer.  The team was short on numbers, but that never hindered their spirit.  They created many great opportunities to score, but couldn’t quite put the finishing touch on their shots.  Proud of our Mercer Island boys and they are looking to get a great result against a good Nortac Sparta team this weekend!

Our B07 Navy Bellevue team competed hard against a solid Nortac Sparta team, but fell short in the dying minutes.  Coach Keenan was proud of the opportunities the boys had created and the heart the boys showed throughout the match.  This team has a ton of passion for the game and Coach Keenan is proud of the energy these boys produce on a weekly basis.

The B09 Navy Bellevue team had a solid 4-1 victory over the weekend down at Starfire. The boys were solid from start to finish and it was a blast to see these boys in action.  Coach Keenan was pleased with the way the boys handled their shape and structure.  These boys have a ton of energy and it’s awesome seeing these players have so much fun on the weekends. Their season is coming to a close soon, but we are excited to see how  these boys finish!

Coach Jack and the B08 Mercer Island team won 3-0 against a very good Fury team.  Coach Jack was pleased with the way the boys competed as a team.  Charlie, Justin and Preston all scored some amazing goals and the backline was unbeatable.  We are very proud of the development of this age group and we look forward to these players finishing the season strong. Good luck boys!

B06 Navy Bellevue and Coach Javi took care of business with a quality 8-2 victory over Emerald City! The boys are sitting on top of the table and will look to stay there for the remainder of the season! Goals came from Georgie, Brayden, Eri, Kousei, and Kai! It is great to see that both of our B06 Navy teams are sitting on top of the table for their respective leagues.  Tons of quality being shown from our B06 age group. We look forward to watching the boys continue to produce some amazing soccer on the pitch.

The B03 Red team battled hard in the rain over the weekend against a good Highline team.  The boys fell short on the scoreboard, but they never gave up.  The boys only had one sub, but every single person contributed to the team performance.  The boys created some great chances and they also had some solid challenges defensively. This team was a blast watching for their season's entirety.  These boys took massive strides forward in their development and we are proud of these young men!  Great season from the B03 Red team!

Our B06 Mercer Island and Bellevue White teams competed against each other in a classic NPSA Derby match over the weekend.  The boys on both teams played great and Coach Javi and Coach Nelson were both pleased with the team performances.  Lots of action and lots of highlights from both teams.  Best of luck to both teams for the remainder of the season!

The B02s concluded their regular season down in Lacey, Washington over the weekend.  Coach Keegan says this was a successful season for the B02s.  The boys stepped up a division and faced some stronger competition and the boys got some positive results.  Coach Keegan was not only pleased with the development of the players on the team, but he was more pleased with the way these men continue to grow.  These young adults continue to mature through the highs and lows of a season and we couldn’t be prouder of these young men. These boys represent NPSA so well and we are fortunate to have these players wear our crest!
